Over the past few years the Club have had several athletes competing for Scotland in the schools SIAB Pentathlon International including Michael Downie, Callum Edwards and Jack Garrigan and for the last 3 years Joel McFarlane has taken part. At the weekend Joel travelled to the Athlone stadium in Ireland and competed in the under 18 group against the top 16 multi-eventers in the country. Joel successfully managed four PBs in the 60m hurdles, shot putt, 200m and 800m and went on to win the four nation competition with a score of 3659 which was also a new Scottish record for the event. Joel continued his success by being awarded the trophy for the best performance by a Scottish athlete across the four boys and girls teams. A huge well done, all the hard work and training is paying off.
