It's been a busy time for us in the Fundraising sub committee just now. After a quiet summer we have to recoup the club funds which we will do by applying for various grants and funds as well as running fundraising events. The Smarties fundraiser is ongoing but we have many other ideas. Please hand in your filled or partially-filled tubes.
This year is the Athletic Club's 40th anniversary so we will be doing little bits and pieces throughout the year to celebrate, starting at the club's annual Frances Ogg inter club two day competition (23rd and 30th August ) We always hold a barbecue on the second day of the event where this year we will be rolling out a few fundraising events: selling tablet, Guess the Number of Sweeties in the Jar, a Bottle Stall, Lucky Programme wins a prize and a Chocolate Tombola. All money raised will go to sustain the running of the club, so we would really appreciate your support. Donations for the Chocolate Tombola and the Bottle Stall will be gratefully received, along with sweeties for the jar.
We will also be taking names for our "40K IN 40 DAYS" virtual run for which all finishers will win a commemorative medal. Entry will be £5 and everyone is welcome to take part.
The club also has two bag packs lined up, at Tesco in early October and in Morrisons in December. As soon as we receive all the details we will post dates and times so everyone can find a suitable slot. These are really good earners for the club, so please try to take part.
We have another ragbag collect planned for October/November so hang on to those unwanted summer clothes!
The Trophy Disco is being organised for November. If you know of a suitable DJ please speak to Karen or Winston.
